Meals on Wheels

Meal routes cover every corner of Chatham County, providing the community with the assurance that every effort is being made to provide food to all seniors in need.

There are areas of the county where new routes are needed. If you know anyone aged 60 or older who has no one at home to prepare lunch and cannot do it alone, please contact us. While we may not be able to immediately add someone to a delivery route, we have an alternative frozen meal program that can provide five lunches a week which can be heated in a microwave.

All meals are prepared in our kitchen in Siler City, and are delivered by a force of 80+ volunteers who rotate delivery days and routes. The Volunteers fill a critical need that goes beyond a nutritious lunch. As they come to know the people they visit, they refer other needs to our staff, such as fans in the hot summer, minor home repairs, and transportation for shopping or medical appointments.
