Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake Bake Off!
This year marks the 28th year of the Chatham County Council on Aging’s Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake Bake Off! The Council invites you to come out on Sunday, February 7th, from 2-4 pm to the East Chatham Senior Center in Pittsboro (365 Highway 87 N). February 7th is also Super Bowl Sunday—the 50th Super Bowl. What better way to start your festivities than by joining the Council to enjoy the winning chocolate cakes and decadent cheesecakes, while supporting programs and services for older adults. For just $5 for adults and $3 for children, you can sample the winners along with milk or coffee. After the sampling, the remaining cakes will be auctioned off which means you can take one home with you or to your Super Bowl Party!
Are you a baker? Register now! Bakers who want to enter their favorite delicious chocolate cake or cheesecake should do so no later than Wednesday, February 3rd, by 5 pm. To enter, please call Megan Coggins at (919) 542-4512 or email at [email protected] with a fun cake name and detailed description. Drop off times will be the Friday and Saturday before the event.
Two first place winners—one for cakes and one for cheesecakes—will each receive a $100 prize. Judging will be based on taste, originality, appearance and creativity for an overall score. Four second prizes also will be awarded. Don’t miss this tasty event!
